Sleep Quiz

This quiz has been designed to help you identify potential sleep problems. To find out if you may have a sleep disorder, review the symptoms below that describe how you sleep.

  • Lie awake for an hour or more before falling asleep
  • Thoughts race through your mind preventing you from sleeping  
  • Snore loudly  
  • Gasp for breath or stop breathing during sleep  
  • Heart pounds or beats irregularly  
  • Sweat while asleep
  • Can't keep legs still while in bed  
  • Wake up and can't go back to sleep  
  • Wake up earlier than intended  
  • Have headaches in the morning  
  • Sometimes feel sleepy while driving  
  • Have trouble at work or school because of sleepiness

If you commonly experience more than three items, you may suffer from a sleep disorder. Consult your doctor or call the UCSF Sleep Disorders Center at (415) 885-7886.
